MUST-SEE Destinations in Northern Italy!

Travel to Italy is back and we couldn’t be more excited! While the Amalfi Coast will always have a place in our hearts, we wanted to share some summer love to our favorite Northern Italy destinations. Read along for our must-sees for your next Italian getaway.

An easy entry-point into the Northern part of the country from the US, Venice is a city full of life, culture, and, of course, delicious food. While it’s hard to beat the Grecian sunsets in Santorini, there is something truly breathtaking about the purple and pink sunsets you experience in Venice. Take a gondola ride with some cicchetti, find one-of-a-kind pieces at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi or visit the beautiful Guggenheim Museum.

With stunning, winding streets, being right on the canal in the heart of the city makes exploring that much easier. Andiamo firmly believes that the location of your hotel is everything in Venice. While the Cipriani will always be our amore, we are also loving the brand new St. Regis as the perfet place to retire after a long day.

Andiamo Tip: be sure to have us make you a dinner reservation at Gio’s during your stay to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the canal.

After spending time in the hustle and bustle of the city in Venice, a 3.5-hour car ride will get you to the picturesque area of Lake Como. With breathtaking views every turn, Lake Como offers a tranquil destination to wind down and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Take a boat tour around the lake to see the gorgeous properties, do a wine tasting at a local winery, or go into the town for a possible celebrity sighting or two.

If you want to be in THE place on the lake, Andiamo recommends Grand Hotel Tremezzo, exuding its luxury on the Lake’s western shores. The property has three pools, a lakeside private beach and private park as well as a beautiful restaurant and wine bar. Make sure to get a room with a Lake View!

After relaxing and sunbathing at the lake, take the scenic drive to the French Alps, the Dolomites. This area is becoming an extremely popular destination, but still offers a destination in Italy that is unlike anywhere else. Often thought of as a place to visit in the winter, the Dolomites are bursting with life in the summertime ,with mountain biking and hiking, festivals and wine tastings. Not to mention the most Michelin Star restaurants per capita.

Andiamo’s hotel pick is the Rosa Alpina, now an Aman-managed hotel. Located in the charming village of San Cassiano, this property feels like home while also having a 3-Michelen Star restaurant right on property. Experience the beauty of nature in the Dolomites, and then returning to your elegant accommodation after a long day exploring.

Starting or ending your journey in Milan will provide a multitude of direct flights to and from the US. End your trip on a high note by seeing the beautiful Duomo, dine at some of the hottest restaurants in the country and experience some of the best shopping in the world.

We are so excited about the new Galleria Vik Milano, which is bringing a completely unique and incredible experience to the city. Located right inside Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, you have views of the space from above and impossible to experience by anyone else, but those staying at the hotel. Each room is very unique in style/design to showcase installations from artists all over the world.

Andiamo Pro Tip: Be sure to ask for Room 524 – Marcello Jori Suite. The views and lighting are beyond anything you could imagine!
